Speedo IQ


This Privacy Policy is provided by Speedo International Limited, the data controller for the Speedo iQ research project. It is hosted here by Unpitchd, Speedo's research partner, on their behalf.

Speedo is committed to protecting your personal data.
This Privacy Policy sets out how your personal data is processed as part of this project or survey (the Project).

Important information and who we are
For the purposes of the Project, your personal data will be collected by:
Speedo International Limited, 8 Manchester Square, London, W1U 3PH, United Kingdom, as the data controller, who may be supported by its affiliate companies.

Types of personal data we collect about you, how we collect it and what we use it for
As part of your application or survey process for the Project, we may set up an online form which will ask you to provide us with information about yourself so that we can select suitable participants or gather relevant feedback. We will only collect your information directly from you and not from any other sources.
If you are selected for the Project, we may ask you for further information to learn more about you, so that we can deliver the Project and achieve its intended aims and objectives.

Below, we have set out the different types of personal data that we collect, what we use it for and why we use it (i.e. the 'lawful basis' we rely upon as required by the UK GDPR and other relevant data protection laws) for each phase of the Project:

Phase 1: Application Stage
Applicant Details (including full name, gender, email address, username and contact number)
* What we use it for: To identify and select successful applicants for the Project; to contact you about your application and involvement; to respond to any queries; to create anonymised data for reporting.
* Lawful basis: Legitimate interests in considering your application and responding to queries.
Ethnicity Information
* What we use it for: To understand the diversity of participants; to create anonymised reporting data.
* Lawful basis: Explicit consent.

Phase 2: Project Stage
Applicant Details (including full name, gender, email address, username, bank details and contact number)
* What we use it for: To contact you about involvement; to reimburse travel expenses; to send feedback surveys; to create anonymised reporting data.
* Lawful basis: Legitimate interests.
Ethnicity Information
* What we use it for: To understand participant diversity; anonymised reporting.
* Lawful basis: Explicit consent.
Product/Survey Details (e.g. preferences, sizes, measurements, responses)
* What we use it for: To consider and develop products/services that address your needs.
* Lawful basis: Legitimate interests.
Application/Survey Information (including submissions, feedback, focus groups)
* What we use it for: To assess eligibility and gather insights.
* Lawful basis: Legitimate interests.
Where you have provided us with your consent to process your personal data, you can withdraw this at any time by contacting aqualab@pentland.com
Sharing your personal data
We may share your personal data with third parties in order to fulfil the purposes described above. This includes:
* Individuals involved in the delivery of the Project (e.g. product designers, consultants);
* Affiliate companies that support the delivery of the Project;
* Professional and legal advisors;
* Law enforcement or other governmental authorities;
* Third party providers (e.g. hosting providers for the application/survey form);
* Publication on our websites and/or social media.

 

California Residents
We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA/CPRA, nor do we "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising unless otherwise stated.
If we engage in such activities in the future, we will update this notice and provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link.

International transfers
We may transfer personal data to a country that does not have laws that provide an equivalent level of protection for personal data as the laws in your home country. For any such transfers we will implement appropriate measures and safeguards to protect your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Data storage and retention
We keep all applicant/participant responses securely stored with access only provided to individuals involved in the Project. Appropriate technical and organisational measures are in place to protect your personal data.
We will not keep your personal data for longer than necessary. Retention periods will depend on the sensitivity of the data, the potential risks, the purposes for processing, and applicable legal requirements. Data will be securely deleted or anonymised once it is no longer required.

Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights (subject to exemptions):
* Right to access your personal data;
* Right to correction or completion of your personal data;
* Right to deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances;
* Right to object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests;
* Right to the transfer of your personal data to third party in an appropriate format;
* Right to opt out from receiving direct marketing;
* Right to withdraw consent at any time where relevant;
* Right to restriction of processing in certain circumstances;
* Right to object to decisions being taken solely by automated means, including profiling;
